This Life Extension article talks about a large, long-term study of postmenopausal women with invasive breast cancer. The study found that simply including a daily multivitamin/mineral supplement seemed to lower their risk of dying from that cancer by 30%.
I know much more research and many more studies will need to be done to truly confirm those results, but it seems very obvious to me that anything that will improve nutritional status will help you fight cancer or any other disease for that matter.
They did not use one specific brand of multi so the take-away seems to be that at the very least, even if you don’t regularly take supplements, you should cover your nutritional bases with a good quality multi.
Many people look for FDA approval and other scientific proof that a supplement is good. I tend to feel the FDA approval of anything means very little. But that’s just my opinion. I like seeing the science behind products but I also love hearing personal stories of success with them. Those tend to carry a lot of weight with me as long as the science behind them is sound and I trust the source.
