Health: What Do Stem Cells Have to do With Longevity?

stem cells“In 2005, 115-year-old Hendrikje van Andel-Schipper passed away to old age healthy and disease-free. At the time of her death, Schipper became the oldest person to have her body donated to science. The researchers concluded that the secret to long life could be rooted in a person’s stem cells and telomere lengths.”

We all have adult stem cells. As this article explains, our bodies begin with about 20,000 stem cells in total, with about 1,300 being active. Basically stem cells are like building blocks in our bodies. Each time you have an illness or injury, your natural adult stem cells can migrate to damaged tissues and actually become a new heart cell, liver cell, pancreas cell or any type of tissue cell. They rapidly multiply and can become any kind of cell needed in a short time. However, as our blood stem cells are used for healing their number decreases and our bodies become less efficient at repairing and regenerating.

So, it makes sense that the more healthy stem cells we have available, the faster and better our organs can be repaired. Our overall health is strongly influenced by the continued availability of extra stem cells in our bodies. As we age the number of natural stem cells goes down. So keeping our stem cells nourished and healthy is very important as these researchers concluded.

There is a unique and effective natural food supplement that supports your body’s natural renewal system by nourishing and increasing your adult stem cells. Studies have revealed evidence of DNA repair for skin, organs and entire body making it an incredibly effective anti-aging pill. Who wouldn’t want to repair and rejuvenate their body inside and out? We may not all live to be 115 – there’s certainly more involved than just this, however, I am always looking for ways to live a healthier, more energetic life.

Were you aware of the importance of adult stem cells and what they do?
