Healthy Living: 3 Body Systems to Rejuvenate for a Healthy, Long Life

3Health can seem like a very complicated matter with all the new information and discoveries we learn on a daily basis. When things get too complicated we all tend to become overwhelmed and frustrated which leads to most people throwing in the towel and settling in their default behaviors. We know that’s not good. So how do we make getting healthy simpler and more doable? Here are my suggestions:

Optimize digestion and elimination.

Death begins in the colon so let’s begin by focusing on improving our digestion and elimination. I know we don’t like to talk about regularity but it’s a fact of life that we should be eliminating at least once every day in order to move waste and toxic material out of our bodies. When we don’t digest properly we are not only unable to absorb the nutrients from our food, we are also unable to properly eliminate them!

Gas, bloating, constipation are all signs that you are dehydrated, not digesting your food and instead it is fermenting and putrifying in your colon! I know – that sounds disgusting, and it is, but if you are experiencing those symptoms, that’s what’s going on inside. You can’t change what you are unwilling to acknowledge! A healthy digestive system impacts your overall health and your entire body including your liver, hormones, heart, immune system and brain.

#1 way to begin optimizing your digestion: increase water and upgrade the quality of your nutrition. In other words – eat real food!
Detoxify regularly – on a daily basis if possible!

We live in a toxic world and I’m not just talking about air and water pollution or GMOs and toxic chemicals and drugs in our foods. We are bombarded with toxic emotions, thoughts, situations and relationships. And if you don’t think those toxins are every bit as dangerous to your health and well-being you are fooling yourself! Every thought we think and every word we speak has a frequency or vibration and it will either support health or encourage illness because every memory is stored in your cells – good or bad! Could it be any more straightforward? There are simple, practical, effective ways to support the detoxification of your spirit, soul and body on a daily basis and I urge you to practice them!

#1 way to detoxify daily: once you have increased water; increase fiber intake – add ½ cup of beans to your meals; again, choose high quality, real foods, organic as often as possible to reduce toxic exposure and pay attention to your thoughts and find ways to deal with destructive thoughts.

Hormones are important for more than just sex.

Most of us, when we think of hormones we think about testosterone and estrogen – the hormones that make us masculine and feminine. However hormones are a dynamic system of chemicals and reactions taking place in our bodies constantly and which are subject to disruption because of this toxic world we live in. While those two hormones are very important, there are so many others like leptin, insulin, cortisol that can dramatically improve the quality of our lives when they are balanced.

Things like xenoestrogens, stress, electromagnetic fields, pharmaceutical drugs, lack of sleep and malnutrition from improper diet ALL impact our hormonal system. For instance, if you can’t lose weight it could indicate adrenal fatigue. Your adrenal glands produce your stress hormones as well as sex hormones after menopause, so if they are fatigued, you may do everything right and still not be able to lose weight or sleep! It’s much more common than you may realize. Some simple tweaks can make all the difference.
