This eye-opening interview with cardiologist Jack Wolfson will give you some things to think about. He talks about the fact that with all the education he and other conventional doctors get, it doesn’t address prevention, just diagnosing disease and then managing it with drugs and interventions. They get no nutrition training in medical school so this is why they don’t even consider nutrition.
Many people are not even aware that heart disease and diabetes, for example, can be prevented and even reversed.
Nutrition and lifestyle changes are much more powerful than most people realize and so much less expensive than ending up in the hospital. Honestly our health care system is really more accurately termed sick care since it focuses on managing disease once it’s taken hold. True health care should be about prevention and reducing your risk for disease.
Rather than taking drugs with dangerous side effects, why not begin with lifestyle changes, nutrition and natural supplements Dr. Wolfson calls evidence based supplements instead?
I did a recent newsletter about foods to keep your heart healthy which you can find here. Just scroll down and it is the first one listed. Even better, sign up and have them sent to your inbox every Thursday.
What do you think about how health care is approached in our country?
