One of the foundational principles of all my 3D Living coaching plans is proper hydration. Specifically, I recommend people gradually build up to drinking one-half their body weight in ounces of clean water and include ¼ tsp. of natural, unprocessed salt like Himalayan crystal or Celtic sea salt, for every 32 oz. they drink. It is not nearly as difficult as most people seem to think and it makes a huge difference in health.
You don’t digest your food properly, you can’t effectively lose weight or even process emotions when you are dehydrated and most people are! Water is critical to life and health. You need water to metabolize proteins and carbohydrates; it’s the primary building block of your cells; it lubricates joints; it acts as a shock-absorber insulating your brain, spinal cord and organs and flushes wastes and toxins from your body.
If you think you’re dehydrated when you feel thirsty, you are mistaken. You are well past it at that point.
The average adult human body is 50-65% water:
heart and brain are 73%
lungs are 83%
muscles and kidneys are 79%
skin is 64%
bones are around 31%
I read a fascinating article about a 30-day water gallon challenge. This man challenged himself to drink a gallon of water a day and the article shares his experience. He didn’t expect all the benefits he ended up reaping from this challenge. I think you’ll find it very thought-provoking.
How much water do you drink daily?
Small, incremental steps taken daily result in staggering improvements! Keep it simple.

Ann, I drink water, but it doesn’t seem to hydrate me. I’m going to try adding salt like you suggest. Since I add it to food I didn’t know if I needed to, but I’ll see if it makes a difference!
Let me know what you see Debbie. I typically do salt food when I cook – but I start the day with 16 oz. of water and 1/2 tsp. of salt just to have it for the day so I don’t forget. It also wakes me up and energizes me better than coffee ever did.
